X-Men #13 (Sep 65): Where Walks the Juggernaut

Creative Team: story by smilin' Stan Lee; layouts by Jack Kirby; penciling by Jay Garvin; inking by Joe Sinnott; lettering by Sam Rosen

Starting Line Up: Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, Beast, Marvel Girl

Guest Star: Human Torch

Synopsis: Xavier calls for help while the X-Men fight the Juggernaut. Human Torch answers and helps out. He beats the snot out of them, but they manage to get his helmet off. Xavier mentally attacks him. He's defeated and handed over to the police.

Yeah, but is it good? It's a big fight issue. And that's pretty much it. What this issue manages to do make a character who was built up as unstoppable, have him lose, but still remain a huge threat. Their plan only worked because of a power guest star and Xavier having to mentally defeat him because nothing could physically stop him. Handing him over to the police is a little silly, though.

Significata: First time we find the one way to beat the Juggernaut - get his helmet off and mind blast him.
